Dr. Abiodun Oyetunji Shittu obtained his B.Pharm, MSc. Pharmaceutics and Ph.D Pharmaceutics degrees from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1990, 2007 & 2012 respectively.

He started his academic carrier with University of Jos in 2009, from where he later joined the services of Univeristy of Ilorin in in the year 2014.

Dr. Shittu was the pioneer Head of Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology from 2014 to 2016. He was the Head of Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy from 2016 to 2021. He was later reappointed Head of Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy in 2023.

He was the Faculty representative to Business Committee of Senate (BCOS) from 2017 to 2022, Faculty representative to University of Ilorin Ethical Committee from 2015 to 2020,

Faculty Representative to Senate 2017 to 2019, Editor, “Journal of Pharmaceutical Research Development & Practice”, Fac. Pharm. Sci. University of Ilorin from 2016 to 2024.

Editor, Journal of Phytomedicine Research Development and Production from 2024.
